Here we go with another KiSS doll. Another Orko KiSS doll. However, this one is not a represntation of Orko himself. Rather, it's a spoof on the current Mattel line of action figures based on the new "He-Man and The Masters of The Universe" series. The figures have been excellent, thanks to wonderful sculpts by the Four Horsemen... but you will have a hard time finding some them in stores. Why? Because Mattel shortpacks every character but He-Man and Skeletor. In a case of 6 figures you will get 4 or 5 of He-Man, and one or two of another character. This leads to people buying the "rares" up as soon as they go onto the shelves, or - even worse - the toy store employees never shelving them, and taking them for themselves. So where do these so-called rares go? They're sold on eBay for ridiculous amounts.

Added to that is the sheer overkill of He-Man and Skeletor figures. Most of the characters have one figure (not including chase figures, and don't get me started on that!) but Mattel keeps churning out more versions of He-Man and Skeletor. Normal bersion, Battle Sound, swing blade, Samurai Armor, Fists of Fury, Jungle Attack, Battle Claw, Stealth Armor, Ice Armor, Inferno Armor, Wolf Armor, Snake Armor... there are more, but the point is made, innit? As a result of the shortpacking and the endless variants of two characters Mattel is churning out, you will find lots of unwanted He-Man and Skeletor figures warming the pegs in nearly every toy shop, and if you want to get another character you'll either have to check back daily or pay the scalpers on eBay.

So, this doll is my little satire on all that. Forget the big slab-of-beef characters, I'd like to see a ridiculous parade of figures based on Orko! Let him get some of the glory, and make him wear some of the dopey costumes. Most of the costumes in this doll are spoofs of existing toys, but I threw in a few ideas of my own.

This set has some FKiss 2. Click on the thumbnails to see that particular doll in screens 1-8. Click the snapto toggle to toggle the snapto on and off; click the "Reveal Face" button to toggle the permanent shadow on his face; click the music button to hear some MIDIs. On screen 9 click on his face and bod to cycle through the available options, and click the packaging to toggle the bubble on and off. Put something grabbable in his hand and he'll grab it. Put a hat or helmet on him and his face will be shadowed. Press the right spot on the Battle Sound armor to hear Orko's war cry.

Oh - don't mess with his ears. He doesn't like that.

A note to the purists: by nature, to dress a KiSS doll you have to be able to undress it. So, I've drawn what I think is under Orko's robe and hat. As I said, it's just my own speculation, so don't take it too seriously. If you don't want to see my design for his face, simply click on the "never reveal face" option on screen 0 and it'll be permanently shadowed. Nasty "How dare you show his face!" complaints will either be blithely ignored or posted on my site (name and E-mail address included) for all to laugh at. But I shouldn't get any of those complaints, because nobody's silly enough to think that you can have a KiSS set without a base doll, right? :)

Set info:

Set 0: Title, credits, and options.
Set 1: The regular Orko figure and silver chase figure, both MOC. Alas, the vintage figure is not MOC. All of these are real figures.
Set 2: Battle Sound and Jungle Attack figures. Based on existing He-Man figures.
Set 3: Samurai Orko and bonus Battlefly accessory. Based on existing He-Man figures and accessories.
Set 4: Imp-Poster (AKA "Faker Orko") with Horn of Evil. Based on the "Faker" figure. The Horn of Evil is from one of the old Filmation episodes.
Set 5: Ice Armor figure. Note the sloppy packaging. Based on an upcoming (at the time I made this doll) He-Man figure.
Set 6: Exo-Armor figure. More sloppy packaging. Based on an upcoming (at the time I made this doll) He-Man figure.
Set 7: Gorpo and Daemon Possessed Orko. A nod to MOTU and ReBoot fans.
Set 8: Custom figures: Uncle Montork and Orko the Gimp. Montork is from the old series; The Gimp is based on "Pulp Fiction."
Set 9: All of the costumes and accessories in one lot. (What? Someome actually got the toys, then OPENED them and PLAYED WITH them? Horrors!)
